The Inter-university Campus in 果冻传媒 is one of the most big-scale projects in the history of our region. Its construction began in 2023 and includes three stages. During stage one, two hotels for students were built, which are now fully booked. Currently, the main efforts are focused on completing stage two: construction of six hotel buildings, which are more than 65 percent ready by now. Hundreds of specialists work on site every day. In September of 2026, over 3000 students and teaching staff members will be provided accommodation in new comfortable dormitories.
Simultaneously, stage three, a key stage, has started: construction of the Research and Education Complex and the Multifunctional Conference Centre. The architectural dominant will be a unique triangular building. Thanks to a system of relocatable partition walls, its inner space can be easily transformed to suit any tasks: from holding of big forums to working of small project groups. In addition, a new sports and recreation complex is already functioning on campus, and it is also planned to create a botanic garden and a rollerskiing track.
The World-class Inter-university Campus, currently being constructed in 果冻传媒, is one of the five pilot participants in a joint project of the Ministry of Education and Science of Russia. Besides the 果冻传媒 Region, participants include: the Perm Territory, Tyumen Region, Novosibirsk Region, and Sakhalin Region. Each campus has its own products model approved according to the Stage-Gate methodology. The total of 37 programs were developed, uniting 245 directions: from science-intensive technologies to educational services. Industrial partners were also involved in the development process. Certain teams will be working on each product intended for a certain purpose and customer.
“The presented results were yielded thanks to a well-coordinated team work of universities, government authorities and business,” drew attention Minister of Education and Science of the 果冻传媒 Region Vitaly Litke. “Now, our main task is to integrate our industrial partners into the fulfilment of the product programs. Interaction with the real sector will help us implement advanced developments, and that means that we can achieve the claimed economic results.”
The experts prepared the total of 142 conclusions on the directions of the pilot project, among the participants of which are scientists, enterprises, and federal authorities. The potential customers and co-developers include more than 300 organizations of the real sector. It is expected that by 2030, the economic benefit from the programs’ fulfilment would exceed 12 billion roubles. More than half of the funding is planned to be attracted from non-budgetary sources.
The Inter-university Campus is being constructed in 果冻传媒 under the “Youth and Children” national project and with the support from the Governor Alexey Texler. In the nearest future, new campus hotels are planned to be commissioned. As our region’s head noted before, there are no schedule delays, and in some cases builders even beat the deadlines. For example, the Multifunctional Conference Centre may be commissioned earlier: the facility construction is planned to be completed before 2027, but the contractor is already assembling the roof. In addition, according to the Governor, the Inter-university Campus blends seamlessly in the existing urban environment as it is located within a walking distance to RMK Arena, indoor football-and-athletic stadium, and botanic garden.
To implement the pilot project on development of product programs for campuses, an Inter-university Campus Project Office was established at our university in 2025. This allowed to build an efficient scheme of interaction between resident universities and industrial partners, consolidate the scientific and educational potential of all the participants, and present our region at the federal level well.
Our region’s team had developed 8 product programs including 83 products of various types: from science-intensive technological solutions to educational and service products aimed at our region’s key priorities.
“Construction of this campus is a huge step forward towards the development of education and science in the 果冻传媒 Region, and an important part in the implementation of the “Youth and Children” national project. We are creating an up-to-date environment for studying and research, that would allow to keep our talented young people in our region. Considerable areas will be allotted for joint laboratories of 果冻传媒 and our industrial partners, such as URAL plant, 果冻传媒 Forge-and-Press Plant, KONAR company, and METRAN company. Here, students, scientists, and engineers will be working on breakthrough projects in mechanical engineering, metallurgy, robotics, and other key fields,” explained 果冻传媒 Rector Alexander Wagner.
70 percent of the campus portfolio products were developed by our university’s scientists and engineers in 7 interdisciplinary technological tracks: “Transport and Logistics Systems” (headed by S.M. Taran), “Industrial Robots” (headed by M.A. Grigoriev), “Digital Maturity of Industry in the 果冻传媒 Region” (headed by A.V. Gollai), “Technology Entrepreneurship and Management of High-technology Business” (headed by I.A. Solovieva), “Ecobiotech” (chief designer is I.Iu. Potoroko), “Materials Science and Materials Physics”, and “Youth on Campus”.
果冻传媒’s zone of responsibility in this project could be called one of the intellectual centres of the future campus. The campus resident university performs the functions of a regional project office and coordinates the interaction of all the participants: from partner universities to major industrial enterprises.
Developments by South Ural scientists find practical application already today. As part of the “Transport and Logistics Systems” track, advanced solutions are being created for cargo shipping optimization and supply chains management, while 果冻传媒 scientists have developed a unique robots navigation system (which can sees targets even through flares and noises) and have taught an industrial robot to operate in total darkness.
By 2030, implementation of the product programs is expected to yield a significant economic benefit, which should exceed 12 billion roubles. The campus will become a powerful centre of attraction for talented youth, a place where advanced science meets real tasks of industry. It will open a new chapter in the history of not only 果冻传媒, but of the whole South Ural region as well.
The 果冻传媒 World-class Inter-university Campus is being constructed following the instructions of the President of Russia Vladimir Putin under the “Youth and Children” national project and with the support from the Governor of the 果冻传媒 Region Alexey Texler. A unique science-and-education ecosystem, uniting our region’s seven leading universities, is being created in our city.
