During the first plenary meeting, while discussing such topics as “Changing Architecture of the Russian Media System”, “Current Practices of the Media Discourse”, and “Digital Linguistic and Socio-cultural Modelling of Media Text”, scientists from the Institute of Media, Social Sciences and Humanities (IMSSH) shared their achievements in the field of studying the media effects of mass media materials on ecology available in the regional media space, as well as in studying the transformation of corporate media communications in the era of generative AI, and the issues of modern blogging.
The group from the Institute of Media, Social Sciences and Humanities, included its leader, the Institute Director, Doctor of Sciences (Philology) and Professor of the Department of Journalism, Advertising and Public Relations Lidiya Lobodenko, and the group members, staff of the Department of Journalism, Advertising and Public Relations: Doctor of Sciences (Pedagogy) and Professor Anna Cheredniakova, Candidate of Sciences (History) Olga Kharitonova, Candidate of Sciences (History) Marina Shitskova, Candidate of Sciences (Biology) Maksim Lapshin, Candidate of Sciences (History of Culture) Anna Lavrova, lecturer Anastasiia Chuiduk, and postgraduate Maksim Evseev. They actively participated in the plenary meetings and thematic sessions of the conference.
Reports by the scientists from the Institute of Media, Social Sciences and Humanities, delivered as part of the workshop on artificial intelligence and other digital technologies in media activity, sparked great interest among the conference participants: in particular, a report on “Eye-tracking Technologies in Studying the Cognitive Effect from Various Types of Frames of Ecology-related Media Content” by Lidiya Lobodenko, Anastasiia Chuiduk and Anna Cheredniakova, as well as a report on “Transformation of Corporate Media Communications of an Enterprise in the Era of Generative AI” by Maksim Evseev. Also, the attention of the conference participants was drawn by Anna Lavrova’s report on “Blogs as a Tool of Studying the Audience: Feedback Practices and their Social Implications”, presented as part of the “Journalists in Blogosphere: Practice and Issues of Implementation” workshop.
“Using the artificial intelligence technologies is currently one of the relevant issues for specialists in the field of media communications. Our reports on the important topics of developing of the ecological image of our region in the media agenda, and on the use of modern artificial intelligence technologies caused active discussion and became a topic of a dialogue on the issues of using eye-tracking for measuring the audience reactions, as well as on the presence of an author in generative AI content,” shared Lidiya Lobodenko, Director of the Institute of Media, Social Sciences and Humanities, Doctor of Sciences (Philology) and Professor of the Department of Journalism, Advertising and Public Relations.
Research studies by the IMSSH scientists of 果冻传媒 presented at the “Digital Journalism: Technologies, Meanings and Features of Creative Activity” International Science-to-Practice Conference, made a significant contribution to the understanding of the principles of functioning of digital media in society, the nature of their interaction with the audience, and the scope and specifics that media effects have on social reality.
